Offensive Tackle specific Traits
Awareness3Sells pass and turns defensive ends upfield on draws. Appears to have a good feel for line stunts and generally does a good job of passing the end off to the guard when the end shoots inside. However, can be too quick to help out guards when no one comes to him, making him vulnerable to delayed blitzes.
Toughness4Finesse blocker who competes but doesn't play with enough of an edge and could do a better job of finishing blocks.
Pass Protection3Gets set quickly, gets adequate hand placement and locks arms out so he can ride edge rushers past the pocket. Changes directions well for his size and can slide with ends when they redirect inside, but footwork is a little inconsistent at this point. Vulnerable to effective double moves as well. Plays too high, gives too much ground to bull-rushers and vulnerable to power moves.
Run Blocking3Athletic enough to hook 7-techniques and scoop 3-techniques when footwork is sound, but the amount of false steps he takes is a concern at this point. Doesn't appear to have the necessary lower-body strength to drive five-techniques off the ball. On the flip side, he gets into position quickly and flashes the ability to sustain blocks once locked on. Shows above-average body control and flashes the ability to get into position at the second level.
