NFL在针对Brady的声明中说，处罚的主要原因有两个，第一是他『有可能大体知晓』放气的行为，第二是因为他拒绝上交手机和通讯记录。另外NFL认为这是爱国者队在“间谍门”事件后的“累犯”。

爱国者新赛季前四场赛程：
第一周：揭幕战 Vs 钢人
第二周：@ 比尔
第三周：Vs 美洲虎
第四周：@ 牛仔

最后意思的是复出之后首战就是@小马，原来和PM就怨和新仇，不知道会看见多少有创意的球迷标语

考虑到罚掉明年首轮的权重比，这样的处罚略重，不过这件事至少在官方层面总算是有了了结。
