The newest plan to build an NFL stadium in Los Angeles is underway. The Inglewood plan is most recent in more than a dozen proposals that have come and gone since the Rams and Oakland Raiders left Los Angeles after the 1994 season, per the Times.St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke, who bought 60 acres in Inglewood California last year, has joined forces with Stockbridge Capital Group, owners of the adjacent 238-acre Hollywood Park site, and the group plans to build an 80,000-seat NFL stadium along with other retail, office and residential spaces, according to the Los Angeles Times. According to the Inglewood developers, no tax dollars would be used in construction of the stadium or other projects. The group plans to gather signatures in order to get the project on the Inglewood municipal ballot in 2015. The news could be a game-changer for the Rams' future in St. Louis. The Rams declined comment on the Times' story. However, Kroenke's plan could put pressure on the city of St. Louis, where the team has played since 1995. The Rams and the city remain hundreds of millions of dollars apart in stadium upgrades, and a new proposal from the city is expected to be made later this month. Talk of the team moving to Los Angeles has been pervasive the last few years. The new stadium project adds fuel to the fire, but we are a long way away from anyone packing his or her bags.
