说说阿汤哥的合同

阿汤原来的合同的cap hit是2年约，21.8M/y. 现在续约之后的新合同是70M/5y. 而这么做最直接的好处是今后两年他可以为球队省下15M的cap hit来签其他球员，对提升球队实力是很大的帮助。
但是，阿汤哥是否真正很佛心，放弃大约帮助球队呢?
事实是，并不是简单的这样。2个事实如下:
1. TB本人在薪金方面并没有任何牺牲或让步. 2. 这并不意味着pats今年5年的QB都是TB.
TB今年已经快36岁了，难道有人期望他40岁的时候还能够拿到20M/y的合约吗? 不可能的。所以如果TB再打2年后退役，那么他这两年拿的钱加上signing bonus, 比原合同还多3M, 之后的一年球队可以摆烂一年消化掉省下3年的20-30M的cap hit. 如果2-3年后他状态好还能打，那么可以重组合同再把cap hit降低。而且现在的传闻是2年之后工资帽会涨到150M, 这样相当于为球队提供了这两年的争冠机会。
所以，这个合同真正的trick并不是说TB放弃高薪，也不是说pats 保障他今后5年的QB位置，而是用未来1年摆烂的代价赢得这2-3年争冠的机会。这样做当然划算。
btw, 现行120M的工资帽状态下，如果一个QB就要占20M(比如某Elite)， 那么这个球队争冠的机会真的不太大了。

首先很感谢LZ的分析，从5年的合同账面上来看，平摊下来，TB每年的薪酬就是14M，这个数字一点都不低。说是完全做善事或许有点夸张。之所以在新合同上称赞TB的作法，完全是因为TB将球队的利益和自己的荣誉紧紧捆绑在一起。看看现在多位QB的薪酬，无论是Elite，还是罗杰，都即将迎来自己的超级合同，更不用说比TB大两年的大曼每年拿着18M的报酬。几乎所有超级QB提升自己的合同金额，、因为TB渴望胜利，所以才会跟球队如此大费周章去重组合同。我想就TB的出发点来说是好的，为了能再次获得SB，所以才愿意和球队做出这样的事情。

1. 先问楼主第一个问题：


“Brady's salaries for 2015, 2016 and 2017 are $7 million, $8 million and $9 million, respectively, and are fully guaranteed for injury only, which means that if Brady is released because of an injury, he will still be paid that money. In the unlikely event that he were released due to skill considerations, he would not be paid that money.”

这个“fully guaranteed for injury only”意思是，如果TB受伤了，那么这24M的工资是全保护的对吧？


但如果TB不受伤的情况下，被球队裁掉，“he would not be paid that money”是不是意味着他一分钱都拿不到？如果答案是一分钱拿不到的话，这份合同到底可不可以称作全保障？

我看新闻的理解也是，后3年的base salary并不是fully guaranteed.  如果因为状态下滑被cut的话，是拿不到钱的。这个比较符合一般NFL的合同，现在几乎没有长约是完全保障的。但是所以某些新闻说的fully guaranteed应该是误传。
关于guaranteed for injury only, 可以理解为guaranteed because of injury。下面是我找到的一个解释这个的文章。如果受伤了，那么合约变长保障性的，球队不能cut. 如果没受伤，那么球队可以以状态下滑的理由cut.


When an NFL player signs a contract, the "guaranteed money" is essentially the base pay for every year for the lifetime for the contract. Sometimes its front loaded and sometimes its even etc. I think it depends on the position of the player, his history, his value to the team, his age etc.

Now a "guarantee" is a contractual agreement to pay the player in the future within a prescribed timeline. The catch is that future money is only guaranteed against one or more of the following future events:

- Injury. Ie if he's injured.
- Skill. Ie if he's cut because he's not good enough.
- Cap. Ie if the salary cap doesnt allow the team to keep the player.


A player is only 100% (or as close to 100% as he can be) assured to get his guaranteed money if the contract specifies that it is "guaranteed against injury, skill and cap". Ie all three clauses have to be included. This means that whatever happens to the player, he gets paid.

If a player's contract is guaranteed against only injury and if he's not injured then the team can cut him because he's not good enough.

IIRC Revis's contract is guaranteed against both skill and injury within different timeframes. See below:

    2010: $7.5 million base salary, no signing bonus

    2011: $18 million option bonus (due on the first day of the first league year after    2010, accounting for the chance of a lockout), $7 million base salary

    2012: $7.5 million base salary (guaranteed for injury)

    2013: $6 million base salary (guaranteed for skill)


    The 2011 to 2013 base salaries listed above kick in after the option bonus is exercised. Before the option is exercised, there is $13.772 million in 2011 and 2012 base salary guaranteed for injury, and $13.772 million in 2013 base salary guaranteed for skill.

    Over the first two years, he will earn $32.5 million. That's a $16.25 million average. Oakland's Nnamdi Asomugha -- who set the mark for cornerbacks -- will earn $16.1 million this year.

    If Revis suffered a career-ending injury today, he would walk away with about $21 million (this year's base, plus the $13.772 million guaranteed for injury)."

我理解了，只要在Brady不受伤的情况下，球队想裁掉Brady，随时可以裁掉，且并不需要支付任何费用了。
这实际TB是损失了不少的，2年后合同到期，本可以拿个大合同养老的。
比如，Brady如果不签这个合同，而等到2015年合同到期去签，工资会更多，奖金会更多，就算不是如此，至少，真正意义上的全保障薪金占整个合同的比重必定更多，而且合同不会是这种随意裁的。
没有全保障的话，这个合同感觉TB还是很被动的，虽然我认为我爱不会裁掉TB，但如果3年后，TB状态不在，又有多少人记得TB今天做的这些？ 只求能在我爱安心退休，我就心满意足了。

作为我爱球迷，我觉得TB已经不能做的再多了，
TB仅在合同这方面，已经不是第一次为球队考虑了，
2005年，TB拿下第三次超级碗，赶上他新秀合同到期，然后TB和我爱签了一份5年6000w的合同，对于当时的TB来说，这只是他能签的合同的70%，这可是TB的第一份大合同（那一年TB还不认识邦臣）

去年也重组过合同，不知道具体的合同细节，但因为是把工资变成了奖金，肯定税要比之前高的多了。

总之，还是那句话，他拿顶薪都没的说，已经不能再要求太多了。

原本以为是100%保障，看了水神的解释才知道。。越发敬佩咱TB大神了！

要不是全额保障的话更不易，哪个顶级球员不想拿更高的薪水，即使是不完全依赖工资收入养活自己的大明星也不会都愿意放弃一些薪水。现在球队很满意，他本人也愿意就很好。
