Percy Harvin用他全面的表现和比赛中的智慧赢得了今年美联社评选的年度最佳进攻新秀奖。

维京人的外接手兼回攻手--Harvin在进攻组和特勤组均有不错的发挥。50名体育记者的投票中，Harvin得到了41票，而乌鸦新秀Michael Oher以6票列第二，其余三票分别给了老鹰外接手Jeremy Maclin, 野马跑锋Knowshon Moreno以及钢人外接手Mike Wallace。

来自NCAA冠军队佛罗里达大学的Harvin在去年选秀大会上首轮第22位被选中，本赛季他共有60次接球6次达阵，15次冲球135码，回攻方面他42次回攻1156码2次直接达阵，平均回攻高达27.5码。包括其中一次回攻101码达阵。他与小马队Austin Collie共同创下了本季新秀接球次数的纪录。而所获总码数（包括回攻）2081码要刷新了维京人单季总码数纪录

2007年的最佳进攻新秀，如今已是超级跑锋的Adrian Peterson说 "I call him Little Phenom……He's got the heart of a lion when he's out there playing."

当然他的成绩也离不开发哥的帮助和指导，发哥说 "I think Percy's on his way to a league of his own……He's quick like Wes Welker. He's got a long ways to go to be in the same category with Wes, but at the rate he's going he's a dominant force in a lot of ways."

本周他还被选入职业碗，司职回攻手。Harvin是第六位获得最佳进攻新秀的维京人球员，其他人包括Peterson, Randy Moss (1998), Sammy White (1976), Chuck Foreman (1973) 以及Paul Flatley (1963).
