如题：
Redshirt是什么意思
有Redshirt senior 好像四个年级都有Redshirt
以前一直以为红裳大四是研一的意思

就是可以训练但不能参加比赛。
因为很多球员读的是五年大学，但NCAA最多只能打四年，所以一般第一年redshirt。所以就有真大一true freshman之类的以示区别

不是读的五年大学，是因为ncaaf能打四年，而很多人第一年是红杉，所以最后很多球员在大学待了五年，但像味精的桥水就没有红杉，而且只用三年就大学毕业了。请指正。。。

NCAA只能打四年比赛  跟实际读书的年份没有什么关系   主要是很多球员在大一几乎没有出场机会 就会选择成为红衫球员 这样没有参赛资格 但是可以通过训练提高    在下一年就是红衫大一球员  之后还有4年比赛资格           另外常见的红衫原因还有伤病等

楼上两位回答正确，redshirt是有很多原因的。最主要的就是技术、身体条件等等跟不上大学比赛，所以要多训练提高一年。还有就是伤病了。除了红衫还有灰衫，但这又是另外一个概念了
