1989赛季，保罗·塔格利亚布成为了NFL进入超级碗时代后的第二代掌门人，自此超级碗中场秀也进入了全明星时代。第24届之前的中场秀虽偶尔也有明星参与，但表演主体都是演出团队（校乐团、乐团、演艺公司及其它机构）；当超级碗和演艺界的超级明星们紧密联系在一起后，这项赛事在全美的魅力达到了顶锋！
